Fastest State Medical Licenses

Which States have the Fastest State Medical Licenses?

If you need a Medical License Fast and it doesn't matter where then consider the following States:

#1 - Colorado Medical Board

The Colorado Medical Board is able to issue a Physician Medical License within 30 days of filing an Expedited Medical License application. The Expedited Application reduces many of the required verifications. This combined with the due diligence of the Colorado Medical Board results in a faster licensure process than other Boards. The Colorado Med Board's Endorsement path is in actuality a Reciprocal Medical License.

# 2 - Ohio Medical Board

The Ohio Medical Board offers an Reciprocal Medical Licensure Path if the Physician meets a few conditions. The conditions are:  1) The Physician must hold an active license in another State for at least 1 year prior to filing the application with Ohio   OR   2) The physician must hold ABMS or AOA Board Certification for at least 24 months prior to filing the application with the Ohio Medical Boaord.

# 3 - New York Medical Board

For Domestic Graduates, New York is one of the fastest States in the USA. Why? New York does not verify Employment, Privileges, Malpractice, or Medical Licenses. Because we only have to verify the physician's Med School, Training Hospitals, and Exam Scores. The process typically is complete and NY Med Licenses are issued between 1 1/2 to 3 months. The internal mail system with New York runs between 2-4 weeks. International Graduates can have a much longer licensure time frame due to the mandated FCVS Requirement for IMG's.

# 4 - Indiana Medical Board

The Indiana Medical Board can issue a Temporary License in 2 weeks given that everything falls into place. Indiana has limited certification requirements which allows for an expedited process. The verifications which are required are limited to the NPDB-HIPDB report, Med School Transcripts, Exam Scores, and State License verficiations. Most licenses with Indiana are issued between 1 1/2 to 3 months.

# 5 - Michigan Medical Board

The Michigan Medical Board is another State Medical Board  with True Reciprocity. If a Physician has held an active License in the USA for at least 10 years, then the only verifications which are required are State License Vertifications. Most licenses with Michigan are issued within 1 1/2 months to 3 months. If a Physician hasn't held a license for 10 years then the Physician's Medical School, State Licenses, and Board Scores have to be sent to the Indiana.

#6 - Rhode Island Medical Board

Rhode Island can issue a license in 30-60 days given that the required verifications are received withint that time period. Rhode Island is a FCVS Mandated State. The RI Medical Board will issue the license prior to receiving the FCVS packet given that the NPDB-HIPDB Report and FSMB Board Action Report comes back clean.
