The Washington Medical Board is unique in its' allowance of Puerto Rico Licensed Physicians to apply using their Puerto Rico Medical Board Scores in the place of the USMLE, FLEX, or NBME. In order that the Physician may qualify for this waiver, the Puerto Rico State Medical Examination has to have been taken before 10/1994. The Washington Medical Board does require that all foreign trained Physicians have a valid ECFMG Certificate. This includes any Foreign Trained Physicians who took Puerto Rico Medical Board Examination.
